Flowers of the Holy Land
Flowers of the Holy Land

Flowers of the Holy Land, 2005
(nine digital prints: 24" x 38")

These works refers directly to current events in Israel-Palestine. Their double flower images come from a small book of pressed wildflowers, produced in Palestine in the early twentieth century. These dried flowers have been scanned and altered to produce double images, connected and opposed (as earth and sky or root and plant). The flowers are the Israelis and Palestinians, their interconnected and differing histories, and their equal desire for justice.
